Get is one of the most common words in English, but some people try to avoid it in formal writing

🔶يتلقى شيء ما

I got a call from Dave this morning.
تلقيت اتصالا من ديف هذا الصباح

•What  did you get for your birthday?
ما الهدايا التي تلقيتها في عيد ميلادك
•He gets (= earns) about $40 000 a year.
هو يتلقى (يكسب ) حوالي أربعون الف دولار في السنة

•This room gets very little sunshine.
هذه الغرفة تتلقى القليل من أشعة الشمس

•I got a shock when I saw the bill.
تلقيت صدمه عندما رايت الفاتورة

•I get the impression that he is bored with his job.
لدي انطباع بانه يشعر بالملل من وظيفته

•Where did you get the idea from?
من اين حصلت على الفكرة؟

•It’s the best way to get a sense of what’s actually going on here.
انها افضل طريقة لتحصل على فكرة عن ما يدور هنا بالظبط

سوف احصل على المال النقود بطريقة ما

من اين اشتريت تلك التنورة

•Did you manage to get tickets for the concert?
هل نجحت في شراء تذاكر الحفل

🔶في الشمال الامريكي يستخدمو get بمعنى يشتري :–

•(North American English) Can I get a Coke?
هل يمكنني(شراء) الحصول على كوكولا؟

Did you get a present for your mother? هل اشتريت لامك هدية

Did you get your mother a present?
هل اشتريت لامك هدية

•Why don’t you get yourself a car?
لما لا تشتري لك سيارة؟

•$100 will get you the basic model.

•You can get yourself the basic model for $100.

How much did you get for your car?
علىكم حصلت من سيارتك؟ (كم ادت سيارتك)

•We got £420 000 for the house.
حصلنا على اثنين و أربعين الف يورو من المنزل ( بعنا البيت )

🔶يبدا بالاصابة بمرض او يعاني منه:–

•I got this cold off (= from) you!
حصلت على عدوى الزكام منك (انعديت بالزكمة منك )

•She gets (= often suffers from) really bad headaches.
هي تعاني من صداع شديد طوال الوقت

•I think I’m getting a cold.
اعتقد بانني بدات اصاب بالزكام

وصلنا الى سانتياغو في الساعة السابعة

•We’re aiming to get to the party at about nine.
نحن ننوي الوصول الى الحفلة حوالي الساعه التاسعة

•You got in very late last night.
وصلت متأخرا جدا ليلة البارحة

•I got back an hour ago.
رجعت قبل ساعة

•Wait till we get home.
انتظر حتى نصل البيت

•What time did you get here?
متى وصلت هنا ؟

•Let me know when you get there.

اخبرني عندما تصل هناك

🔶get شخص او شيء + v ing
يجعل شخص او شيء يعمل كذا

It’s not hard to get him talking—the problem is stopping him!
ليس من الصعب جعله يتكلم .. المشكلة في ايقافه

•Can you really get that old car going again?
هل حقا يمكنك ان تجعل تلك السيارة القديمة تشتغل مجددا ؟

🔶يفهم شيء ما

•I don’t get you. انا لا افهمك

•She didn’t get the joke.
هي لم تفهم النكتة

•I don’t get it —why would she do a thing like that?

انا لا  افهم !!! لماذا هي عملت شيء كهذا؟
(مش فاهم !! ليش هي بتعمل هكذا)؟

•I get the message —you don’t want me to come with u.
فهمت الرسالة !__ لا تريدني ان اتي معك.

You’ll never get him to understand.
لا يمكنك تفهيمه ابدا

•‘What’s the capital of Bhutan?’ ‘
You’ve got me there!

ماهي عاصمة بهوتان؟
زيدت عليا بهذه /مش عارف

•What gets me is having to do the same thing all day long.

ما يضايقني هو اضطراري بالقيام بنفس العمل طوال اليوم.

He thinks everybody is out to get him (= trying to harm him).
هو يعتقد بان كل الناس يريدون اذيته .

•After a time you get to realize that these things don’t matter.
بعد مدة (زمنية) ستدرك بإن هذه الأشياء ليست مهمة.

•You’ll like her once you get to know her.
ستعجب بها حينما تبدا بمعرفتها

•His smoking is getting to be a problem.
بدا تدخينه في ان يكون مشكلة

•She’s getting to be an old lady now.

بدات تصبح سيدة مسنة

يجب ان اذهب لاحضار  امي من المطار

احضر لجون شراب

•He got ten years  for armed robbery.
حصل على عشر سنوات سجن عقوبة على السطو المسلح

•I wanted to speak to the manager but I got his secretary instead.
