قراءة ذلك الكتاب مضيعة للوقت

It’s a waste of money buying things you don’t need
شراء الأشياء التي لا تحتاجها مضيعة للمال

V—+ ing …is /isn’t/was/wasn’t a waste of time/money

Smoking is a waste of money
التدخين مضيعة للمال

Watching TV is a waste of time
مشاهده التلفاز مضيعة للوقت

Reading that book was a waste of time. قراءة ذلك الكتاب كانت مضيعة للوقت

◼Spend يقضي
◼Spent قضى. امضى

◼Sujuect + spent +مده زمنيه + Verb -ing

Examples:-

I spent months  building this house
امضيت اشهر في بناء هذا البيت

We spent two hours waiting for you yesterday
امضينا ساعتين في انتظارك امس

He spends hours studying
هو يمضي ساعات في المذاكرة

Tom spent a year looking for a jop.
امضى توم عاماً وهو يبحث عن وظيفة
